WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR VISIT
The goal of these visits is to co-create a self-sustainable integrative medicine healing plan for you, incorporating Western medicine and Eastern healing modalities, so that you heal better, feel radiant and have the tools and knowledge to stay healthy.
You and Dr. Shah will sit comfortably together as you take a deep dive together into all of the issues bothering you, your medical history, and the human story behind your symptoms.
During this portion of the comprehensive evaluation, components of your personalized plan toward healing will start to take shape.
Dr. Shah will first perform a conventional Western medicine physical exam.
Then, Dr. Shah will perform a holistic physical/energetic examination and provide you with an acupuncture and hands-on healing treatment session to set the healing path in motion.
You and Dr. Shah will discuss the first stages of your healing plan + a timeline. She will provide this information for you to take home. Often, the healing plan will come together fully AFTER your visit, when Dr. Shah has time to review, synthesize and aggregate all the information that has come forth from your visit and your intake form.
Plans may include any combination of the following treatments or further evaluation:
A prescription of herbs, botanicals, supplements or standard Rx
Labs, other diagnostic studies (both new orders and/or a plan to review labs/studies ordered by previous medical providers)
Nutrition (food as medicine) plan
Ongoing acupuncture and hands-on healing plan
Stress, sleep, or mental health management plan
Mind-body practice plan &/or physical movement plan
Dry needling, joint corticosteroid injections or trigger point injections for pain
Additional informational references or reading
Referral to specialists or adjunctive healing services.
Dr. Shah will provide you with a written copy of your personalized healing plan + interactive timeline with detailed instructions to take home with you. If your plan is to be formalized after the visit, you two will discuss what and when to expect the finalized version.
If laboratory or diagnostic testing is indicated based on the findings from the visit, a prescription and instructions will be provided for these tests.
Please note, Dr. Shah carefully reviews your completed intake form before and any other lab/imaging information you offer her after your visit and may modify your plan accordingly.
Life is hard enough.
Learn to optimize your wellbeing, shift detrimental perspectives, prioritize joy and start living up to your highest potential.
Together we will remodel your mind-body connection to create an upgraded infrastructure for your nervous system. Your whole health will follow suit.
Sitting down together (often on the floor if you’re okay with it) you and Dr. Shah will deep dive into the challenges you have been facing. Dr. Shah will offer and guide you through practical science-backed mind-body tools and methods that will help to turn the volume down on the body’s sympathetic nervous response (the “flight-fight” part of your nervous system). This, in turn, will help to usher in fresh perspectives, awareness, grounding, calm, clarity. The personalized toolkit we will build together will help to decrease stress and anxiety, improve whole health including metabolism and immunity, increase joy and lightness of being, and optimize wellbeing and peak functioning.

Dr. Shah will provide you with a questionnaire prior to your visit to assess your needs. At the visit, you and Dr. Shah will discuss your current issues, what medications you are taking, what treatments you’ve already tried, and which practitioners you are working with.
